– Catch up with the Ipswich Horticultural Society Garden Club Inc. Qld to learn more about how to get the most out of your garden

– Create heritage-inspired gardens with Jonathan Gregory from Bombax Design

– Learn about timber house paint restoration and renovation techniques 

– Heritage property renovating and designing with David James of Thirdson Construction

– Learn about Ipswich’s character homes with City Architect Mark Tendys

– Decorate with antiques with Athol Birnie from The Black Museum

– Expert tips for styling heritage homes

 

SUNDAY Program

Chasing our Past – From 10am to 11:30am, Picture Ipswich Digital Archivist Melanie Rush explores historic views of Ipswich from Limestone Hill and reveals how these iconic images helped shape the city’s identity

Hands on History: A QM Pop Up– From 12:00pm to 2:00 pm, touch and connect with fascinating objects and artefacts from Queensland Museum in this handon heritage expereince.

The House Detective – From 2:30pm til 3:30 pm, uncover stories behind historic homes with Marianne Taylor and learn how to research your house

Step into more than 160 years of Ipswich history on a guided theatrical journey through Queens Park. Led by performers from Ipswich Little Theatre, these engaging tours bring the park’s stories and personalities vividly to life.

PICNIC IN THE PARK

On Sunday, you can round out your festival experience and settle in for a relaxed Picnic in the Park with live big band music in the beautiful surrounds of the Bush and Orchid Houses. This vibrant afternoon invites visitors to linger, explore and soak up the timeless charm of one of Ipswich’s most treasured green spaces.

Preorder a Picnic Hamper and collect it from the Queens Park Cafe to make the most of the beautiful spring afternoon.

Across the weekend, the Glass House, Bush House, Ipswich Croquet Club, Ipswich Bowls Club and Ipswich Little Theatre will open their doors for special public access. All locations can be found within Queens Park.
