PICTURE IPSWICH PRESENTS: BRICKSWICH!
Thursday 29 August – Sunday 8 September, Online
Welcome to Brickswich, a place where Ipswich history is reimagined in bricks. Help us to build Brickswich by recreating historical photos from Picture Ipswich using any construction blocks you have at home. Recreate a scene, a building, or a streetscape, using Picture Ipswich images as inspiration, then take a photo and share it with us by uploading to Picture Ipswich. Don’t forget to tell us which Picture Ipswich image inspired you.
Children and adults, individuals and families are all invited to be inspired by the thousands of images on Picture Ipswich. What iconic Ipswich landmarks can you build in bricks? Are you the ultimate Ipswich LEGO® builder who takes up the challenge of recreating St Mary’s, the Art Gallery or 1 Nicholas Street?
Be inspired by a series of set images, or take a risk, click on the ‘Surprise Me’ button and recreate the first random image that opens. Your Brickswich creations can be as simple or as complex as your skills (and brick collection) allow. Then test out your photography skills by recreating the angle and colours of the original photo.
Once you have taken a photo of your Brickswich build, submit it to the Picture Ipswich Facebook page or directly to the Picture Ipswich website using the Upload button. All Brickswich photographed creations will be added to the Picture Ipswich website, alongside the images that inspired them.
