ABOUT THE AERIAL DISPLAYS

Freedom Formation
Freedom Formation was founded in 2015 by a group of passionate aviators with a shared vision to create Australia’s most impressive formation aerobatic display team. What started as weekend practice sessions between friends has grown into the largest Formation Aerobatic Display Team in the Southern Hemisphere.

Our team brings together pilots from diverse backgrounds—former military aviators, competitive aerobatic pilots and skilled homebuilders—all united by a love of precision flying and the desire to showcase the beauty and excitement of general aviation to the public.

Today, Freedom Formation performs at major airshows and events across Australia, demonstrating the incredible capabilities of our aircraft and the exceptional skill of our pilots through meticulously choreographed routines that push the boundaries of formation flying.

Our signature multi-layer display routine will have you in awe and wondering where to look next. Our team consists of 22 RV Aircraft and one Yak 55, creating the most spectacular aerobatic formation displays in the Southern Hemisphere. We use these aircraft to showcase our passion for aerobatics, formation flying and general aviation. Each aircraft is meticulously maintained and flown by experienced pilots who have dedicated countless hours to perfecting their craft.

From intricate close-formation flying to breathtaking solo aerobatic sequences, our displays demonstrate the precision, skill, and artistry that define modern aviation excellence.

Matt Hall Racing
Flight Lieutenant Kris Sieczkowski graduated 220 pilots’ course in 2010 and went on to fly the F/A-18 ‘Classic’ Hornet, completed the Flying Instructor Course before going on to instruct on the Hawk 127 Lead-In Fighter. He also completed F35 conversion in the United States. Kris is a former display pilot with the RAAF Roulettes.

He has displayed on the big stage at F1, Supercars, AFL Grand Final, NRL Grand Final and Pacific Airshow and many more.

His aerobatic display performance features intense aerobatic manoeuvres reaching up to 10G and -2G forces. It includes a combination of crowd-favourites including tumbling end over end, knife edge, inverted flight, stall turns, torque rolls, half cubins and air racing simulations.
