Galvanized is the city’s festival of heritage, showcasing some of the best heritage experiences and events Ipswich has to offer across 11 days from 29 August – 8 September.
Be transported back in time by visiting iconic venues and historic sites and participating in open days, tours, demonstrations, workshops and social events of yesteryear.

FIRST NATIONS
Celebrate local First Nations heritage and culture with stories, dance, song and bush foods at the Indigenous Wild Foods & Cultural Festival.
SOCIAL EVENTS
Relive historical dance and music from the 1800s, dance until you drop in post WWII victory inspired dinner dance, visit vintage vehicles, or take a steam train ride.
HAUNTED
Take a stroll through the most haunted places in Ipswich and scare yourself silly with tales of mystery, statues that move and creepy children’s handprints on cars.
TOURS
Enjoy guided bus, walking and even floating tours of historic Ipswich. Learn the stories of the people and places of days gone past, from beautiful buildings to local watering holes and historic families.
VISIT
Step back in time and experience aviation, family history, antiques and a recreated heritage village, or wander through a magnificent display of quilts and craft from talented artisans.
WATCH & LEARN
Join heritage workshops from sand blasted glass and blacksmithing to caring for family treasures or be immersed in the history of Ipswich’s leading jazz band.
