Set within Queensland’s original Rail Workshops, this all-ages day celebrates mouth-watering BBQ, live music, heritage workshops, and vintage displays for a truly unforgettable experience.
Feast on food truck favourites, enjoy a meal at the cafe, or bring your own picnic to enjoy among the historic industrial buildings where rail in Queensland was born.
Explore restored locomotives, meet artisans keeping traditional trades alive, and enjoy live entertainment including roving performers and toe-tapping tunes. With hands-on workshops, a vintage photobooth and more, it’s a day made for curious minds, history lovers and families wanting to make the most of Father’s Day – with a uniquely nostalgic twist.

- Feast on Flavour & History: Enjoy a mouth-watering lineup of BBQ and steamed delights from food trucks, or bring your own picnic and relax among Queensland’s most historic industrial buildings.
- Vintage Vibes & Live Tunes: Toe-tapping swing by The Memphis Movers, the quirky charm of roving performer Uptown Brown, and lively performances from the Amberley Brass Band will set the mood for a day of celebration and entertainment.
- Step Back in Time: Wander among vintage locomotives and heritage workshops, where blacksmiths, leatherworkers and potters bring the past to life. Don’t miss the Historic Motorcycle Showcase and Moveable Type Studio, a fully-functioning antique print workshop.
- Get Hands-on: Roll up your sleeves in one of our Heritage Craft Workshops (bookings essential – spots fill fast!).
- Dress to Impress: Come in your best vintage threads and strike a pose in our Black & White Vintage Photobooth – the perfect keepsake for a truly memorable day.
- Food & Refreshments: Enjoy barista-made coffee, hot chips and hearty meals at the Dining Hall Cafe, or indulge in smoky meats, bratwurst and more from our hand-picked food trucks.
- Steam Train: Step onto the platform and get up close with steam locomotive BB18¼ 1089, from 9.30am to 1.45pm. Meet expert drivers, hear their stories, and learn what it takes to operate this magnificent machine. It’s a rare chance to connect with Queensland’s rail heritage, don’t miss it!
