Ipswich Hospital Museum

The Ipswich Hospital Museum’s current display consists of stories of

• Dr Thornton the first medical superintendent of early 1900’s and an operating theatre of that time.

• Childrens ward items and documents of children’s care in earlier times

• Old pharmacy items and recipes of treatments long past.

• A nurse’s working life and documentation relating to her training in the 1950’s

• Dr Trumpy and Matron Wilcox – their long careers in charge of the hospital for over 40 years in early 1900’s

• Board Minutes from 1863-1876 relating to the administration of the hospital.

• A recent find of medical notes from the 1880’s
