St. Mary’s historic walking tours with Fr Stephen and musical accompaniment by The Black Square String Quartet  

Parish Priest and Franciscan friar, Fr Stephen is hosting walking tours of beautiful St Mary’s Church highlighting the unique features and history of this stunning piece of 19th Century local architecture. The tours are accompanied by The Black Square Quartet comprising some of the finest string players in South East Queensland.

Featuring music composed during the same period as the construction of St Mary’s (1870 – 1890), along with a special selection of compositions by female Australian composers, The Black Square Quartet celebrate the sculpture work on the high altar dating from 1919 by the highly celebrated and awarded artist Daphne Mayo.
