PLEASE NOTE: StoryArts Festival Ipswich 2021 has been postponed to 29 August – 2 September 2022, due to COVID restrictions.

However, some events in the Family Program will still run.

Ipswich’s biennial StoryArts Festival presented by the Ipswich District Teacher-Librarian Network, brings you award winning authors, illustrators, storytellers and performers from all over Australia to deliver an exciting program of literary experiences.

This year’s family program delivers up another awe-inspiring afterschool workshop program from Monday 2 August to Thursday 5 August. Attendance is free but bookings are essential as spaces are limited. Bookings can be made online for all sessions at storyartsfestival.com

2 August - Let’s Get Moooooving with Kathryn Apel and Renee Treml - CANCELLED

2 August - Creating a Mystery with Tristan Bancks - CANCELLED

2 - 4 August - Woodblocks and Rangoli from India with Lee Fullarton

Ipswich Community Gallery, d’Arcy Doyle Place

A delightful workshop for children aged 5-11 that explores the traditional Indian Art practices of Block Printing and Rangoli. Like in Lee’s picture book Mr Chippa the Woodblock Carver of Bagru kids will create their own printed works using traditional blocks from India.

3 August - Midnight in the Museum with Renee Treml - CANCELLED

Learn about the production processes of making the TV show Bluey. Beth has been working on Bluey since season one and is now a Lead animator at Ludo Studio. Dave Lowe is the author of 11 children’s books and has co-written an episode of the TV show ‘Bluey’.
