Ipswich StoryArts Festival is back for 2022!

Ipswich’s biennial StoryArts Festival presented by the Ipswich District Teacher-Librarian Network, brings you award winning authors, illustrators, storytellers and performers from all over Australia to deliver an exciting program of literary experiences.

1 August - Let’s Get Moooooving with Kathryn Apel and Renee Treml

‘Kathryn Apel’

A whole herd of hands-on activities for children aged 0-8 to have fun on the farm with the creators of ‘The Bird in the Herd’, Kathryn Apel and Renee Treml.

1 - 3 August - Woodblocks and Rangoli from India with Lee FullARTon

‘Lee Fullarton’ 

Monday 1 – Wednesday 3 August 2022 | 4.00 pm – 5.00 pm
Ipswich Community Gallery, d’Arcy Doyle Place

A delightful workshop for children aged 5-11 that explores the traditional Indian Art practices of Block Printing and Rangoli. Like in Lee’s picture book Mr Chippa the Woodblock Carver of Bagru kids will create their own printed works using traditional blocks from India.

2 August - Midnight in the Museum with Renee Treml

Children will create an authentic museum specimen worth of the Museum of Natural History in ‘Sherlock Bones’ using air drying clay. Activities led by Megan Daley.

4 August - Q&A with Beth Durack, animator and illustrator – Chair: Dave Lowe

Learn about the production processes of making the TV show Bluey. Beth has been working on Bluey since season one and is now a Lead animator at Ludo Studio. Dave Lowe is the author of 11 children’s books and has co-written an episode of the TV show ‘Bluey’.
