Sisters Ally and Sarah have been singing together for over 20 years, so their craft has been perfected. Their impeccable harmonies are displayed to their best advantage in their written songs.
Last year saw them chosen as finalists in the Gympie Muster Talent Quest and Brisbane Ekka Country Music Showdown. Their debut EP “Stronger” was released back in 2021 and they’re hoping to release another single later this year.

Visiting IMMERSE’s Art Snack Café is a must. Local artist Alan Tulloch acts as the Café’s “Art Chef” to present “Anima” (at the Art Snack Café). Look over the menu to see what you would like, but be careful, some dishes may be surprising, and even a bit scary. Art Chef Alan has cooked up a unique way to make art in the form of dry-media screen-printing. For IMMERSE he presents images of threatened to extinct Ipswich animals – and their future may be in your hands. When printed, these animals often prompt people to say “wow!”. What will you say as you receive a print and have a chat with Art Chef Alan about your dine-in / take-away experience? And what star rating will you give?

This is a great opportunity for younger children to practice their cutting and stapling skills; and older students to explore the properties of our salvaged materials to select the best materials to replicated key parts of a creature’s anatomy such as legs, wings or eyes.

She happily shares her methods, process and experiments through Facebook , on YouTube and in workshops and courses.

This experience in inkwork will give you the opportunity to experience a different form of art in multiple  substrates, with a practice paper then a ceramic or glass piece. Come and expand your knowledge and enjoy a creative outlet that you may not have considered before, while seeing how you can reuse and remake with common household items.

Children’s Latin Music Workshop
The singer, pianist and percussionist from No Way José Latin band will guide children through clapping, singing, simple movement and basic hand percussion through some of the key ingredients to making Latin music.

The session will centre on the story of how music and dance feed into each other in diverse sounds of Latin America, and will break down several basic foundations for making music you can dance to.

The workshop will aim to empower young ones to have the confidence to move to Latin rhythms, and to leave them with some rhythmic and melodic building blocks for learning more about Latin musical cultures in the future.

Young Adult & Adults Latin Music Workshop
The singer, pianist and percussionist from No Way José Latin band will facilitate an introductory encounter for those intrigued by the rhythms and timbres of Latin music.

The workshop will begin to break down some ‘recipes’ for participating in Latin Music making. It will cover important rhythmic and harmonic elements from several diverse Latin traditions, with heritage ranging from Colombia, to Brazil, to Cuba, with the aim of empowering attendees to begin to embody the core musical elements.

The aim is to leave participants inspired to use what they have learnt to engage as an audience, and curious to pursue further learning and involvement in the community of Latin music making happening locally.

Mask Making

Participants can utilise various techniques of stapling, gluing, threading and even simple sewing to realise their wearable art piece. Goggles and masks are just a few ideas in this theme.

These workshops draw on the rich symbolism associated with wearable art throughout history and cultures, such as identity, the subconscious, ceremony and celebration.

No Way José

The No Way José Musical Tour of Latin America (For Kids!) is a show and workshop project produced by the co-founders of No Way José Latin band, Milly Sargeant (Ipswich) and Juan Manrique (Bucaramanga, Colombia).

Designed to showcase the diversity of music and culture throughout the Latin American continent, the show tells the story of a female character travelling through Latin America, making various stop-overs in different countries.

Using a combination of storytelling, live musical performance, dance and audience involvement, the No Way José Latin band will demonstrate some classic Aussie nursery rhymes to various Latin rhythms, as well as sharing some traditional tunes that will engage audiences and get them moving and feeling each rhythm.

Start your child’s dancing journey with these interactive workshops from NY Dance. With fairy ballet, acro, circus and hip hop, there’s something for everybody!

NY Dance is a dance studio located in Raceview. The youngest students start their dance journey in the ‘Little Dance Stars’ program which has been specially created for children aged 0-6 years. Students can learn Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary Musical Theatre, Acrobatics & Aerial. The classes focus on performance opportunities that allow dancers to experience the very best that dance has to offer in a non-competitive way.

Taylor Wilton

Having released her debut EP, Words of Advice, in November 2019, local artist, Taylor Wilton, is a natural entertainer that’s graced stages with her quirky lyrics and bluesy voice. She also has world-wide recognition from non-other than pop icon, Christina Aguilera, after being showcased on the YouTube series, You Sang My Song, in 2018.

She’s recently released a single called Moon and Back, which I’m sure she’ll sing acoustically for you all today accompanied by her ukulele. Taylor’s hard work as an independent artist, combined with her unique voice and beautiful song writing, are all major contributors to her strong following and dedicated fan base in her hometown and surrounding areas.

She manages to balance the best of both worlds being not only a musician but a full-time educator, having started her teaching career in 2015. She is looking forward to working on and releasing more music to Spotify and other streaming platforms in the near future.

Create colourful, woven wearable art on a sustainable cardboard loom with sculptural, installation and weaving artist, Casselle Mountford.

Weaving on a sustainable loom is a great tactile activity for ages five and above.
