Hogarth Arts are about art and culture about expression and wisdom all rolled into a nice paintball, by Stephen Hogarth who dedicates hours creating amazing paintings and designs for you to enjoy.

KJH artworks is a family business, who we come together to share our stories through art, and reconnect with our culture, and identity. Owner Kylie Hill is a proud Kalkadoon and waanyi woman, who grew up in the Ipswich community, and has lived here, raising her family for 35+ years.

Jelyar Jewellery is crafted by proud Murri woman Lyndsey and is full First nations owned and operated. ‘Jelyar’ a Goreng Goreng word which means Lung Fish (Ceratodus).

Glass Art Dreaming is an Aboriginal owned business based in QLD, created by Toni Phillips-Peterson, making hand-painted wine glasses and light up glass bottles, to fridge magnets, jewellery, candle holders, mirrored photo frames, shirts, glass dome rings, earrings, and pendant sets, and more.

Picture Ipswich will showcase a series of images from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Online Resource Collection, drawn from the local area. Please be aware the collection may contain images of deceased persons.

All Day                          Dylan Sarra Cultural Workshops – The workshops will be exploring the use of ochre, looking at mark making, the use of cotton tree to make rope and looking at the environment to create and tell stories. The workshops are designed so that all attending have a sense of ownership to the knowledge they receive and then in turn will hopefully share with others. This then follows the footprint of the Indigenous culture by empowering an attitude to share, care and respect people of all cultures and the environment that surrounds us.

All Day                         Sobah Beverages presents premium non-alcoholic craft beers infused with Australian native fruit and spices. Sobah promotes healthy lifestyle choices and wellness, social equity, sustainability, raises positive awareness of First Nations culture, smashes stereotypes, unites people and, of course, our beers quench thirst.

All Day                          Elders Tent and space will be provided in honour of our elders in the community and visiting. Take time to have a chat and a cuppa and spend some time.

10:00am -12:00pm       Kupmurri Resource Garden Community Planting – Get involved and join the community planting and plant a native plant that will help to provide additional food and material resources alongside the Kupmurri cooking pit. Your planting will also help to provide food and habitat for birds and other wildlife. Gloves will be provided. Take a walk with local conservation knowledge experts and learn about some of the native plants found in the Ipswich region.

10:30am & 12:30pm  Sounds of the Bush – Listen and learn the sounds of the bush in this interactive singing, dance and didjeridoo workshop with Sam Conway. Music and dance are an integral part of First Nations culture and Sam has been sharing traditional skills and knowledge with the community for over 30 years.

11:00am                       Official Opening 

11:45am & 1:00pm       Sue Ray – winner of the 2022 Blues’n’Roots QMusic award, has her own authentic country/blues and roots sound, with an inimitable smoky rich voice, and charismatic performance. A First Nations artist, Sue criss-crosses genres appealing to a wide demographic of fans.
